It’s Back To School Time!
Hi everyone! Natalie here with another fun blog post. Today, I’m sharing a fun and surprisingly easy pencil-themed card—perfect for back-to-school season!
Let’s start by taking a closer look at the card I created:

I wanted to make a pencil-shaped card for my post today. However, I didn’t have anything to cut the shape. So, I tried a different approach. I really like how it turned out!
To create my card today, I used the following colors
I started by cutting the Kraft cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″. This was folded at 5 1/2″ to make a top-folding card. Next, I cut the colored cardstock into the following dimensions.
Pink Tutu 1 1/4 X 4 1/4
Lava Stone Gray, about 3/4 an inch X 4 1/4
Light Yellow 2 1/2 x 4 1/4
Kraft about 1/2 X 4 1/4
Black 1/2 X 4 1/4
Please keep in mind that all measurements are approximate. After trimming the cardstock pieces, I arranged them on the front of the card. Then, I adhered them in place to create the look of a pencil. To make the pink look more like an eraser, I used my corner punch. I haven’t used that for quite a while. You can easily adjust the colors to suit your personal style or project needs. To finish the card, I added a small tag stamped with a fun matching sentiment.
Let’s have a closer look

What do you think of this design? I’m already planning to make several more of these cards to give as thoughtful gifts. Believe it or not, my daughter liked them so much that she asked me to create a few for her. She wants to give them to my grandsons’ teachers. It’s such a simple yet meaningful way to show appreciation!
Thanks for stopping by the CutCardStock blog today! I hope you were inspired to try and make your own pencil themed card.
