(Star)dreamy Floral Friendship Card
Are your gardens blooming now that it’s glorious summer? Mine certainly is although I admit the percentage of weed to bloom might have tipped in the former’s favor this year. It’s Toni here! Why don’t we avert our eyes from my “garden” and take a gander at my latest floral card.

The Floral Elements
Using Concord & 9th dies, I cut out the flowers using mostly Stardream Metallic Paper, not cardstock. The difference is in the weight. The paper is 81# text (120g) 6 pt, while the cardstock is 105# cover (285g) 13 pt. I’d estimate the paper’s cardstock equivalent to be about 60#. Thus, it’s an ideal weight for lots of layering without getting too heavy or bulky for regular postage rates. Also, just look at that shimmer! Swoon! I used the following colors:
- Stardream Metallic Azalea 81# Text Paper
- Stardream Metallic Aquamarine 105# cardstock
- Stardream Metallic Rose Quartz 81# Text Paper
- Stardream Metallic Coral 81# Text Paper
I was a bit worried the Stardream Metallic Text paper would shatter/split when embossed but I had no such issues. Notice that the Lessebo Colors Premium Sweet Mint cardstock embossed (and sponged) beautifully too. I also used Pop Tone Banana Split cardstock and Cougar White 110# cardstock for some of the centers.

The Card base
To mirror the embossing of the blossoms, I used a Stampin’ Up embossing folder on the Cougar White 110# Cover A2 Folded Card that I used as a base. I used a modified sandwich so it wouldn’t emboss as deeply as it can as I wanted a worn look. Cool, huh?

The sentiment
Utilizing another Concord & 9th die for the sentiment, I used Gold Bright Foil cardstock for the letters. I adhered them to a base of Curious Translucent Clear cardstock. I love how the mix of the Stardream Metallic Paper shimmer, regular cardstock, embossing and reflective gold foil look together, don’t you?
