The Pearl Anniversary Card
This month, my husband and I celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We always give gifts and cards related to the theme of the month. Do you do this too? Hi everyone, it’s Maureen today! I invite you to recreate this card for either weddings or anniversaries using the Stardream Metallic Pluto paper. For instance, add wedding cards to your stash for a last minute project. Take a look!

I cut an 8.5″ by 11″ piece of Stardream Metallic Pluto down the middle. One piece will be a top fold card, and it is scored at 5.5″. The other piece is cut in half, and I used one panel to die cut a background like a quilt. You can use a panel die cut like I did, or a quilted embossing folder would work well too.

Cut the quilted piece down to a 4″ by 5.25″ piece and adhere to the front of the folded card. Next, prepare several pearl embellishments to be glued down at the cross points of the quilted pattern. Use loose beads like I did or flat back stickers instead.

Pick up the beads with an embellishment pick up tool, if they slide around. Do you own one of these tools? They are a handy addition to a craft room. Pearls match the Stardream Metallic Pluto beautifully!

Cut two different strips of paper in Stardream Onyx Black and DCS Dolphin Gray. The coordinating colors add drama to the pearl backdrop and, as a result, add good contrast to the front panel. Trim the ends like banner flags and adhere these to the front of the card. Add another Stardream Onyx Black panel to the inside of the card too.

Next, cut a heart-shaped image in Stardream Metallic Pluto along with numbers from your favorite die cut set. Glue the heart shape to the top of the flags. You may need a small needle of glue for this fine of a cut. Attach the numbers to the bottom of your card.

Finally, select a sentiment that goes with your theme. For dramatic flair, I use black and white pre-printed sentiments. Attach this with a piece of foam for interest. Additionally, add a bow at the top for even more interest!

Attach a sentiment in the middle that you can write on with a pen. Stamp “I love you” or another saying for the inside of the card, allowing space to write. Use a white paper like Classic Solar White if you wish.

In conclusion, research those special days and add them to your card projects for loved ones. If you try it out, let me know! Don’t forget to bring along CutCardStock when you do. See you next time!
