Holiday Thank You Cards: One Design, Two Ways

I don’t know about you, but I am always in need of thank you cards. Mary here, and today I’d like to share two quick and easy thank you card designs. My color palette was inspired by The Grinch (one of my favorites). I chose Galax 80# cover and Amaranth 80# cover card stock because they were perfect colors for my non-traditional holiday vibe. The thickness and quality of these made the die cutting smooth and the inlay precise. The die is the “Thank You Cover Plate” from Simon Says Stamp.
Card 1: Embossed Inlay Card

For this card, I die cut the panel from both the pink and green card stock. I separated the letters from each panel. Be sure to save the centers for the “A” and the “O”.

I adhered the green panel to a pink, snowflake embossed panel. Using reverse tweezers, I added liquid glue to the back of each letter and the heart and placed them in their corresponding location. Then, I added the green centers in to the two letters. To add some interest, I embellished the heart with Snowflake Stickles. Lastly, I adhered the finished panel to an A2 card base.
Card 2: Offset Layered Card

This card begins the same as the other card – die cut the thank you panel out of both colors. Next, I trimmed the pink panel 1/8″ on all sides; this keeps the pink from showing on the sides of the panel when it’s together. I stacked the panels (green on top) and simply shifted the pink panel until I liked the way it looked behind the green panel and adhered them together. To complete the card, I glued the panels to an A2 card base using liquid glue and adhered the heart.
You can see how quickly these cards came together! I encourage you to experiment, as even simple shifts in design can lead to entirely new card styles.
