Make a Hey, Boo Bag!
I’m not sure when the trend started to decorate for Halloween and Christmas in alternate colors, like pink. But sign me up for this fa-boo-lous idea!! I’m such a fan of decorating for the holidays, and it’s nice to branch out once in awhile.

Hi everyone! It’s Maureen today showing you an easy but dramatic project you can do in 10 minutes…we’re making Boo Bags!

Okay, it’s more like a “Hey, Boo!” bag, but you get the idea. The fun of it is I get to play with my favorite Stardream papers once again from CutCardStock! Seriously, you MUST check out the Stardream collection. I never thought I’d fall in love with a line of papers like I have with this series.

Let’s start with the Stardream Metallic Rose Quartz and any pumpkin die cuts (or SVG file) in your stash.
Next, I’m using a Spellbinders die cut to make the argyle shaped diamonds in both Stardream Metallic Onyx Black and Stardream Metallic Pluto. You could also cut diamond shapes and small strips of paper to achieve the same look.

I’ve pieced together the Stardream Onyx pieces first, running down the middle of the pumpkin.

Next I’ve layered on the Stardream Pluto diamonds on top, overlapping the bottom pieces. Then the smaller X-shaped piece (or strips) are attached so they cross over the top shapes. Add a few Stardream Onyx dots to the middle of the X’s.

This is the time to get liberal with the bling!! Add as many flashy embellishments as you can find. I’ve also dusted the edges of the Stardream Rose pumpkin with some bright pink ink, for dimension.

I needed more pumpkins (it’s just like cowbell!) so I made a smaller version but this time I’ve used negative pieces from a background panel to create zig zags. Assemble and trim off the extra edges.

Then it was time to cut the sentiment. The Stardream Metallic Pluto cuts so smooth on my Cricut machine!

Add this to the front of your black bag, along with the large and small pumpkins. The drama of the pink against the black is one of my favorite looks!

Now you just have to stuff the insides with some cute gifts and candies for your favorite person! I think a spooky candle, or even a handmade gift would be ideal for Fall. Who would you make a handmade bag for? And would you use pink, or another fun color?
