Thank You Card with Floating Circles & Ovals

Happy Wednesday, everybody! Can you believe we’re a little more than halfway through March already?! Are you still working on Winter-themed projects or are you pushing toward Spring or perhaps creating for other occasions? I’m really not a seasonal crafter – I pretty much create whatever pops into my head! Leslie here, sharing a cool thank you card featuring more cardstock from our new Lessebo line! I totally love this cardstock! I used White, Amazon Dark Teal, Arctic Blue and Sweet Mint, and dang, don’t these colors look fabulous together?! I’ve made a few cards in the past with floating strips. I made one not too long ago with floating tiles. I thought I would try something a little different this time with floating die cut shapes, and I love how it turned out!

Cut Card Base & Layers

Cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base, an inside layering panel and an inside embellishing strip from Lessebo White. Similarly, cut an inside embellishing strip from Lessebo Amazon Dark Teal.

Next, cut front and inside layering panels from Lessebo Sweet Mint. Also cut a layering panel the same size from clear acetate.

Finally, die cut an assortment of stitched circles and ovals from Lessebo Arctic Blue, Amazon Dark Teal and Sweet Mint.

Create Focal Panel

Lay the die cuts on the acetate panel, and when comfortable with placement, adhere with double-sided adhesive strips. Trim edges as necessary.

Adhere Inside Panel

Embellish the inside white panel with the embellishing strips and a leftover die cut for a little interest. The panel will then be adhered to the mint green panel.

Stamp Sentiments

Stamp the front sentiment on the lower middle die cut in black ink. Then stamp the inside sentiment on the white panel, also in black ink.

Assemble Focal Panel

Line up the edges of the acetate panel with the mint green panel and adhere them together with dimensional foam. Circles, squares or strips of double-sided foam can be used (whatever you have on hand). Be sure to completely hide the dimensional foam behind the die cuts to give the illusion of floating.

Complete Project

Add the focal panel to the front of the card base and then adhere some white glitter enamel dots. Next, add the inside panel to the inside of the card base which will complete your project.
