santa box

It is so fun to craft for the holidays. I am such a Santa fan so I made this Santa gift box. You can fill it with a gift or sweets. Add a ribbon and hang it on your tree for an ornament. It can also be used as a decor piece.

Hi, I am Janet from Try it – Like it – Create it, and I created this free SVG file to share with you as a part of the CutCardStock design team. Do you love working with SVG files? As a graphic designer, I love creating SVG files, and I will be sharing projects, including SVG files, with you twice a month.

The card stock used for the Santa Box is Habanero and is weighted at 80# cover. I also used Basis in white and pink.

cut parts

Using a Cricut Maker, I cut and scored the card stock into the pieces shown above. Fold the large red shape on all the score lines, folding them in the same direction. Once done, glue the tab to form the box.

Glue the facial pieces onto the box. I chose to antique them beforehand using Distress Oxide ink. I also used pink chalk to create rosy cheeks. The mustache was placed using foam tape to show the difference from the beard.

Please visit me at Try it – Like it – Create it to download the free SVG file and to see a video tutorial for the construction. Santa Box (available 12/1)

Hi, I am Janet. I am married to my husband Dan and we have two teenaged girls. Nowadays I work from home. I have always loved to create. As a child, one of my favorite things to do was talk my mom into a trip to the craft store. I took my love of art and craft and studied Graphic Design in college. Then I pursued an MFA in Graphic Design and an MS in New Media. I left a prosperous career as a college professor to raise our girls. Looking for a creative outlet, I started a website; Try it - Like it - Create it
