Got Scraps? Cutting multi-colored titles and embellishments with the Cricut is a great way to use paper scraps and this project used 16 different colors! Although this layout was a pretty simple design, the colorful title really makes it stand out!

I know you’re thinking, that had to have taken a lot of time putting paper on mats and then removing them…but guess what? There’s an easier way. Just place your scraps around the mat and move your images around in Design Space during the “Make It” step to coordinate with where the different color papers are (something like the photo below).

I used two 6×6 sheets of patterned paper to add some interest to the already cool Marble Robin’s Egg Cardstock background. Isn’t that a fun background paper for Easter? I wish I could marbelize my dyed eggs to look this cool! I wanted to fit as many 4×6 photos as possible on this band of patterned paper so I cut them down to remove the background as much as I could without cutting off any heads & limbs.

Once the patterned papers and embellishments were placed on the marbled paper, it still needed something. I decided to mat the larger photo in Cougar White Smooth cardstock and add two more areas of white to create a visual triangle. To do that, I cut white cardstock into journaling strips on the lower right hand corner and a tab on the top right to hold the two Easter eggs.

To create the tab, I cut a 3×1.5″ piece of white cardstock and rounded the top two corners using a corner rounding tool. Easy! Those rounded corners really make a difference there.
Two 1/4″ strips of Pink Carnation cardstock adhered to the top and bottom of the layout along with some pink paint splatter complete the layout.

I love the way the layout turned out. It’s bright & fun and doesn’t take anything away from the photos.

Before I finish, I must tell you about my hard-boiled eggs. Now, I’ve been hard-boiling eggs since the beginning of time and always cook them the same. I don’t know what happened, but after they were all found and we started peeling them to eat, they were still runny! I tried to save them by putting them back in hot water but then they were so hard and gross. Nope! We had to toss them out!
