Who doesn’t love Dr. Seuss! Before all the lockdowns and restrictions happened, my niece and nephew had a Dr. Seuss week at school last March. School is quite different now, distance learning as they call it, they may not have another chance for awhile. They are the cutest!

I started off with Kraft Chipboard, Curious Metallic Gold Leaf, Pop-Tone Orange Fizz and Pop-Tone Wild Cherry, I pulled in a random blue that matched the skirt in my picture, but would also look good with both the red and orange. I got this Dr. Seuss Cut file and had that all ready to go, Using Cougar White Cardstock to do that! That hat is SO becoming a shaker Hat!
I added the acetate on to the backside of the Hat, and using Foam adhesive sheets and strips went along the outside of the cut out portions. I added some more the Wild Cherry Cardstock, after adding my sequins, i covered it up with the Cherry cardstock. I used a pigment ink pad, and added some red highlights and such to break up some of the white.

I cut the colored cardstock into strips, about 1.5 x 11, 4 of each color. Added some red ink to the bow, and layered some white and gold behind my photo.
Using an edging tool, I roughed up the edges of each strip, and laid them out in a way to get an idea of where and how I wanted these to layout. I also decided that I wanted the strips going vertical instead. Using Score-Tape, I Attached the strips to the Kraft Background.
I didn’t want to take away from that shaker. I kept it simple, for me, just adding some coordinating sequins, some fun wood veneer, epoxy Flair, fun library cards, and my title.
I kept this layout simple, showing off that paper, and my hat! Cougar White is the best paper for cutting on! so smooth! By far, my favorite paper to cut with!
Hopefully there will be some fun new school pictures this year. As all my nieces and nephews head back to school I get silly mask photos, and still social distance learning photos, I suppose this is something we need to get used to for the time being. I hope you enjoyed this! Check back every day for fun new ideas and inspiration!
Happy Crafting!
