3 Dimensional Glitter Cardstock Focal Pieces!

Hi there! It is Hannah, again. I’m the crafter over at Fanciful Spaces. 🙂

I’m REALLY excited to share this piece with you today:

I’ve been really envious of Mixed Media artists for some time now. I’ve been studying their pieces and trying to figure out what they did. I’ve also been so intimidated by them that actually starting a project was really really hard for me to do. Fortunately, this past Creativation, I took a class taught, in part, by Seth Apter.

Seth gave a bit of advice to the class during the class. I’m paraphrasing here, but it went along the lines of, “In mixed media, you’re always one layer away from total rubbish. But you are also always one layer away from perfection.”

Those lines really stuck with me. I kept thinking over and over again about them. After so many mixed media classes that week, I finally saw that he was right! Mixed media didn’t have to be so scary!

Ever since I first came in contact with this silver glitter paper I’ve wanted to turn it into stars. This paper is SO SHINY! I adore it. I took my 3d stars from a Jennifer McGuire technique, combining the two ideas, and created a fun project that practically jumps off the page!

Want to watch me make this?
Thank you so much for watching! Remember to never stop creating! 😀
