Hi everyone…have you ever just looked at a selection of card stock and knew immediately what you were going to make…just from the colours??? Wouldn’t these be perfect for a gal pal? Thanks for stopping by…pan down to see my tutorial on how to make this set…and to see the recipe for these designs. -First choose your supplies…I chose to make a flip flop card…so I chose my Pop Tones card stock, my Basis white card stock for my A2 vertical card base and dies and stamps from Jaded Blossom
-I first cut an A2 Vertical card base out of Basis white cover stock(cutting an 8.5″x11″ piece in half vertically and folding in half)…I then used the Card Mat dies to cut my first background layer from Cotton Candy Pop Tones card stock(this die is 4×5.25″…I also cut the flip flop bases out of the center along with a Candy Wrap die for my sentiment..as no one will know…and why waste card stock?), I then cut a layer of Grape Jelly Pop Tones card stock at 3.5×4.75″ using my Fiskars paper trimmer and then cut flower dies from the center…cause no one will see it…next I cut a Stitched Rectangle die 3.25×4.5″ from White Basis card stock…I then cut a Stitched Rectangle die 2.75×4″ from Sno Cone Pop Tones card stock
**ps-all my diecutting was done using Jaded Blossom dies and a Vagabond die cutting machine from Sizzix
-I then grabbed Environment Desert Storm card stock and Pop Tones Blue Raspberry card stock for my beach and water…along with my dies from the Tropical dies set from Jaded Blossom…along with their Stitched rectangle die 2.75×4″
-I first cut the Environment desert storm using the 2.75×4″ rectangle die…then cut a beach using the Tropical dies…this leaves me with 2 beaches…I’ll put the other on aside for later…I also cut the same rectangle out of Pop Tones Blue Raspberry card stock…then used the wave die to cut the water layer…this leaves me with 2 water pieces…I’ll put that one aside too
-I cut flowers and the flip flop tops from Pop Tones Sour Apple card stock
-Now I have all my pieces…I take my sentiment stamp from Jaded Blossom’s Tickled pink stamp set and stamp it on the Candy wrap die piece using Versafine Onyx black ink…I stamped it as far left as I could…as I plan to have the die coming in from the top of my card from the left…I’ll cut off the overhang
-Now I’ll adhere all my layers to my card base…I stuck the pink layer down first, then popped up the purple layer with foam tape…applied the white layer…then added the light blue layer for the sky…added the darker blue water and beach layer…I then added my sentiment to the upper left of my design and popped it up with foam tape…then cut off the over hang with scizzors. I then added my fip flops with foam tape and added the green tops…I added the flowers with foam tape for dimension
-I then added a sprinkling of Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard for an embellishment(LOVE THESE)…I also added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply white to the Flower centers
-With my left over water and beach I decided to make a quick tag…I cut the tag base using Basis white card stock and Luggage tag dies from Jaded Blossom, I cut the tag layer from Snow cones Pop Tones card stock for my sky…I then cut the tag reinforcement and the Palm Tree top from Sour Apple Pop Tones card stock…and my coconuts and Palm Tree base from Hot Fudge Pop Tones card stock
-chose my stamp set and quickly layer everything together…stamping the sentiment on the tag bottom with Versafine onyx black ink…I added a jute string to tie the tag with and sprinkle the tag with Nuvo Glitter Drops in white blizzard…all done!
