Looking for a fun way to send out photos for the holidays? How about an easel card that doubles as a photo frame your friends and family can display proudly on their shelf! And for a little extra holiday magic, I printed my photos on Printable Glitter Cardstock.
Start by trimming a piece of Stardream Metallic Mars Cardstock to 4.25″ x 11″ and 4.25″ x 5.5″. Then score the larger piece at 5.5″ and corner to corner as shown above. Die-cut both a frame and a solid panel that are slightly smaller than 4.25″ x 5.5″ from Stardream Metallic Crystal Cardstock.
Use foam strips to adhere the white frame to the 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of red cardstock and adhere die-cut embellishments with Tombow Mono Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I left the top side of the frame open (no foam adhesive) so that I could slide the photo in later or the recipient could remove the photo if desired.
Adhere the white panel to the inside of the cardbase with tape runner and add a small die-cut embellishment to the lower right corner with foam tabs (this will hold the frame upright, so it needs to be raised).
Once the glue has dried, fold the card base closed and apply adhesive only to the lower right half (the triangle that bends inward) of the front panel. Press the frame panel in place directly over top. When closed, the card will look like the sample above.
To create that fun glittery look on your photo, simply insert a piece of Printable Glitter Cardstock into your inkjet printer and print your photo at about 3.25″ x 4.5″. I chose white glitter cardstock to keep the colors in the photo a little truer, but this stack comes with silver and champagne glitter cardstock as well.
Here’s a closer look at the effect you get with the glitter cardstock. It almost appears as if you printed the photo and added the glitter on top…without the mess! This detail shot also shows how I layered different colors of the shimmery die-cut embellishments to achieve a lot of dimension.
