Painted Blooms Card
With spring flowers blooming and Mother’s Day right around the corner, I thought it was the perfect time to make a super feminine floral card and matching envelope. It’s Annie, and I’m back today with a fun technique to create an almost painted look using layering stamps on Brown Bag Kraft Cards and envelopes.
On kraft cardstock, dye inks can look muted because of the way they absorb into the paper. So, to get this look, start by stamping a shadow layer of the entire design in white pigment ink onto a Brown Bag Kraft A2 Folded Card and set aside to dry.
Next, stamp the same images in colored dye ink right on top of the white ink. To add interest and a bit of a halo effect, stamp the colored layered slightly off-center of the white layer.
Stamp the next layer in a darker shade of the same color or a coordinating color. The flowers should now have a hand-painted feel to them.
Die-cut a sentiment three times from Magenta Basis Cardstock and once from Savannah White Limba Woodgrain Cardstock. Adhere all four layers together with Tombow Mono Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue, placing the white woodgrain layer on top. Use liquid glue to attach the thick hello embellishment to the front of the card.
Add a border to the empty corners with a Signo White Gel Pen (use a ruler if you can’t draw a straight line like me!) to give the card a finished look.
The finished card will look like this. I love adding a coordinating pop of color underneath white sentiments!
To create the matching envelope, simply repeat the steps above to decorate the flap of a Brown Bag Kraft A2 Bag Flap Envelope.
