As much as my kids and I hate to admit it, back-to-school is right around the corner. This month on the CutCardStock blog, we hope to inspire you with some great back-to-school projects. I’m kicking it off today with these origami wrapped pencil “chopsticks”!
I figured you can’t really go wrong with pencils, so I grabbed two, topped them with snazzy erasers and then wrapped them in a strip of origami paper. I used Mono Multi to hold the origami in place.
I wanted to hang a simple tag from the “chopsticks”, so naturally I need to make one using a sushi stamp set! I stamped my sushi image on Neenah Solar White cardstock, which works great for Copic coloring. For the top lay over tag, I stamped my sentiment on vellum.
I tied the tag on using some stretch gold cording I had in my stash…. and that was it! This makes a cute individual item, or if you are excited to share with all the students, you could make a mass-production of it. Just make sure to get the kids involved!

I love working with just plain white cardstock, don’t you? It’s like a blank canvas – there are so many techniques you can use to make projects uniquely your own.
