Hello all, it’s Alexia here today to share a project idea with you! It’s getting closer to Halloween and I have been making some Halloween projects for my kids. I will share one of them today, a Halloween stick mask! It’s fun and easy to make and its’s cute for the little ones! I have a brief tutorial to create this mask too.
Spook image embossed in gold embossing powder.
The glittered card stock is shiny and kids love it!
Here is the tutorial to create this mask!
Step 1: Using a die-cutting machine, cut out a mask. I used a bat’s cut file to do that.
Step 2: Cut another cut file that is larger than the one in Step 1 to use it as second layer for the mask.
Step 3: Glue two cut-outs mask together, glittered mask on top.
Step 4: I used Samantha Walker’s Spooky word cut-out and use it to decorate my mask!
Step 5: Using a watermark stamp pad, rub it on the back of the Spooky cut-out and emboss it in gold color embossing powder.
Step 6: Adhere the embossed Spooky cut-out over the finished mask in Step 3. Make sure the double Os fit just where the eyes of the bat are!
Step 7: Now this step and step 8-9 are optional. I don’t have a right stick for the mask so I used what’s available in the house. I used three skewers, taped them together and cover them with card stocks on the outside. If you have something better than skewers, use it and glue it to the back of the mask as shown in Step 9!
Apply adhesive on the taped skewers on both sides and adhere them onto card stocks
Step 8: (Optional) I suggest to use a paper trimmer for this, I don’t know why I didn’t do that! So the imperfect cut kinda ruins my end project! Sigh… Anyway, you get the idea, paper trimmer for perfect cut!
Step 9: (Optional) Glue the finished stick to the mask and you are done!
Here is my little boy with the mask! I don’t have good lighting so the picture didn’t turn out as nice. Also, I did some bargain with my boy for this picture. Although it only took a lollipop but oh boy, kids nowadays sure know how to bargain!
What do you think? I love the quality of CutCardStock’s card stocks, great for all kind of paper crafting!
