Hi everyone and happy April. Carol from the DT here. If you love making cards as much as I do and putting a little love and piece of yourself in them you want to make sure they’re as beautiful on the outside when you mail them. You’ve taken the time to make a special card for someone, why not present it in an envelope with an extra touch?
Today I’m sharing how I did a couple of things in one. The first was to make a card that worked for some good family friends who are married to each other and whose birthdays are one day apart. I needed something that worked for a man and a woman; feminine enough for her, but not too much so for him. I decided on the colors of lapis/navy, gold, and black.
The card itself is 5×7, white cardstock with an embossed panel using Curious Metallics shadow and a honeycomb embossing folder. I used a coordinating piece of blue, gold and gray handmade paper I had in my stash, a white panel mounted onto a piece of Stardream Metallic onyx. Added some glitter die cuts and gold cording to wrap the card.
I used a floral blossom stamp from my stash , stamped onto a scrap of the Stardream onyx and heat embossed with glitter gold embossing powder. While I had my stamp out, I decided I’d embellish my envelope with a faux-seal.
I used an A-7 basic envelope in navy to match my card. I slid a scrap of paper under the flap, stamped my image, heat embossed, and removed the scrap.
When closed it looks like a custom seal!.
To finish, I used a metallic gold pen to address the envelope.
