Sometimes I get inspired simply by the gift I buy someone. I saw these fun football themed soaps one day and decided to make hostess gift tags from the CutCardStock papers to go with it. Hi, I’m Maureen (A Little Mo Crafty) and I want to show you how to make these! Create your own gifts? Yes!
First, start with one sheet of Canvas Textured Bonsai Green. Then, cut it down to 6“ x 3“. Score the top at 1 1/2” inches.
Next, punch or cut a circle at the top of the tag and fold at the line.
Now cut a few strips of Classic Crest Solar White at 1/4 inch in width. Trim down to an inch in length and add them along the side of your tag. This creates hash marks like a football field!
From here, cut a football shape in DCS Vanilla Bean Brown. Find a similar shape on an electronic cutting machine or cut by hand. In addition, add Classic Crest Solar White paper strips to the ends and laces to the middle.
Now cut assorted rosettes or doily shapes and coordinating colors. I’ve used Lessebo Hunter Green and Basis Light Yellow for mine. Additionally, use colors for your hostess gift tags that coordinate with their home.
Furthermore, add ribbon banners if you wish across top of the bottom section like streamers. Mine are cut from DCS Granny Smith Green. Trim off any overhang.
Now add messaging to the back. Cut a slightly smaller rectangle than your tag in Classic Crest Solar White. Stamp a sentiment. Also, stamp an alternate direction with your message for added interest.
Now attach the rectangle to the back and the football to the front, using foam dots if you wish. Finally, finish off with a sticker bow and some sparkly embellishments.
That’s all you need for a quick but meaningful hostess gift! Take this with you for Thanksgiving or any other event (instead of food) for a host and they will be delighted. Make sure to check out the CutCardStock website for all your holiday projects! Thanks everyone!
