Wicked Party Pennant

Bring a little sparkle to your next movie premiere with these “Wicked” party favor pennants! Perfect for gift bags, centerpieces, or themed parties, they’re quick to make. I’m Maureen (A Little Mo Crafty), and I love creating fan projects for events like this. With a mix of CutCardStock’s Stardream Metallic and Glitter paper, you’ll have shimmering accents that are sure to wow any Wicked movie fan!

To begin, use Stardream Metallic Rose Quartz and Onyx Black to cut two pennants—one for each of the main characters. The shimmer of Stardream Metallic adds an instant touch of elegance and durability, making it perfect for party décor. Next, punch two small holes at the wide end of each pennant. These will be used later for threading twine or ribbon.

After that, cut a strip of Mirrisparkle Pink, Mirrisparkle Silver and DCS Black Glitter with a zig zag pattern, either with trimming scissors or a die cut. This sparkling accent fills the white space on your design. Carefully glue the trim along the long edge of each pennant. Be sure to let it dry completely before moving to the next step. Glitter paper is thicker than others.

Then, cut out the word “Wicked” in the two coordinating shades of the Mirrisparkle Glitter paper like the movie title, Green and Pink. Layer and glue the two pieces together for extra dimension and a bold, eye-catching effect. To ensure proper placement, use a ruler to find the center of the pennant before gluing the word in place. This small detail keeps your design centered and avoids it getting crooked.

Next, embellish the wide end of the pennant with a sticker bow or other accent. The pop of sparkle adds personality and ties in beautifully with the overall theme.

Once your decorations are secure, thread twine through the holes you made earlier. Tie the pennant onto a straw or decorated stick, making sure it hangs evenly. For a layered look, add ribbon by weaving it through or around the straw. Mixing textures gives the final piece more visual interest.

Finally, stick the completed pennant into a gift bag, thermos or cup, or even a party centerpiece. The result is a playful and stylish accent that’s perfect for Wicked movie fans or anyone who loves a touch of sparkle.
