Sparkly 4th of July Card
Hello and welcome back! This is Mary sharing a sparkly and shimmery July 4th card. Do you create cards for the 4th of July? I typically do not, but I have been invited to a party on that day and thought a card was in order. This card was so quick and fun to create, I plan on making more of these to send out!
Step 1: Gather materials
I shopped my stash to find the appropriate sentiment and dies and of course, CutCardStock had the perfect colors for this patriotic card.
To create my card, I used the following items:
1. Divinity Designs Double Stitched Stars die set
2. Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Cling stamp set Crazy Talk
3. Card stock in the following colors: Red Pepper, Blue, Cougar Smooth White and Stardream Metallics Eris
4. Cougar 80# A2 card base and matching envelope
5. Ranger Perfect Pearls Confetti
6. Brutus Monroe Alabaster White Ultra Fine embossing powder
Step 2: Die cutting
To begin, I cut a piece of blue card stock to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Using three of the star dies, I arranged them on the blue panel and then die cut them. These dies leave a cute stitched pattern on the card stock that is die cut as well as on the actual die cut star. I die cut two of each size star from the Cougar white card stock and then one of each size from the Stardream Metallic card stock. For the last bit of die cutting, I cut the three smallest stars out of the Red Pepper card stock.
Step 3: Splattering
I wanted to add shimmer to the background, so I decided to splatter Perfect Pearls. This is any easy and effective trick to add something more to your card.

Step 4: Heat Embossing
I chose a sentiment to heat emboss and stamped it with Versamark embossing ink. Then, I sprinkled the embossing powder on and heat set it.
Step 5: Adhering the card together
I wanted the stars to pop off of the card a bit, so I adhered two of the same size white stars together and then topped them with the metallic white star. This created a nice thick element. I repeated this for each of the star sizes. You can’t have a 4th of July card with out adding some red, right? I adhered the next size smaller red star to the center of each white one. Next, I adhered the blue panel to the A2 card base and then fit the stars into the openings. I love how the shimmery stars add dimension to the card!

To finish the card, I added a few tiny, silver stars to the background.

I hope my friend likes this card as much as I do!
