Lucky Scrapbook Layout
With Spring on the way and St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner, do you feel the luck in the air? This is the time of year that gets me thinking about the things that I am lucky to have in my life. My idea for this page started with the theme of St. Patrick’s Day and I wanted to focus on the word “Luck” and rainbows.
Getting Started
Once I decided on creating a large rainbow on my page, I started by pulling out the cardstock from CutCardStock Store that I wanted to use. For this project I picked:
DCS Canvas Textured Blue Hydrangea cardstock
Stardream Metallic Quartz cardstock
DCS Textured Indigo Blue cardstock
DCS Canvas Textured Wild Salmon cardstock

After selecting my colors, I then cut out a large rainbow outline using my Silhouette Cameo and started the process to not only back the rainbow with the cardstock but to also create a sequin shaker in the open part of the cloud cutout.

This is what the finished rainbow shaker looks like. I decided to back the whole rainbow and cloud with another piece of the Stardream Metallic Quartz cardstock. I did this so that the whole rainbow would be elevated off the page due to the depth needed for the shaker pocket.

Since I was placing the rainbow on the Blue Hydrangea cardstock I decided that I wanted to add some more blues to it since it was the main part of my background. I grabbed a stencil and three colors of distress oxide inks (Stormy Sky, Broken China and Prize Ribbon) along with my blending brushes to create the background. I also added some splatters of Broken China Distress Oxide spray and Dylusions Shimmer Spray in a dark blue.

Finishing my Page
Now it was time to assemble my finished page. I used my sewing machine to stitch the blue cardstock to my patterned paper background. Then I added my rainbow and photo. Finally I added my title and some word strip stickers and enamel dots.

Thank you so much for joining me here today for my very first project with CutCardStock! I hope that this project inspires you to document something that you feel lucky to have in your life.
