Sweet Friendship
Hi Sharon here, I’m back with another ‘just because’ card I love sending random cards for no particular reason to friends.

Let’s walk through how to make it. I love the look of embossing on vellum and these flower stamps from Stamps By Chloe look so delicate.
Curious Translucent Cardstock is a thick vellum so will hold its shape when die cut.

To make the flowers each layer needs stamping on the vellum using Versamark Ink. Then using Hero Arts White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder heat emboss the stamped images.

One thing to note when doing this, keep your heat tool moving. Don’t do what I did on my first attempt and melt the vellum! Also make sure you use an embossing powder tool so you don’t get stray powder. I have dies for these stamps so it didn’t matter too much.

Once all your flowers are stamped and embossed either use scissors or dies to cut them out. To give them a a little color turn them over and lightly brush with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink.

This gives a delicate coloring to the flowers.

Make a tent folding cardbase from Classic Crest Neenah Solar White Cardstock and mat this with Razzleberry Pop-Tone Cardstock.

My next layer is some delicate grey patterned paper from Kingston Crafts but you can use any muted pattern. Wrap some fancy ribbon around this before adding to the card. As well as being decorative, this gives somewhere to place your sentiment.

Construct the flower by layering the different sizes on top of each other. Rotate each flower so the petals are off set. Using the flower to measure how much room you need for it place your sentiment on the remaining portion of the ribbon. I have chosen a sentiment from Spellbinder’s BetterPress Always and Forever Sentiment Strips.

The flower needs adhering to the card, vellum can be hard to fix in place due to being clear. As you have so many layers this isn’t an issue as the glue won’t be visible.

To finish the card add a few gems or pearls. I am using grey pearls to coordinate with my design paper.

Let me know in the comments if you send cards ‘just because’ I hope this had given you some inspiration to do so.
