Handmade gift tags are a perfect way to make any gift stand out! I recently made a couple gifts for door prizes at a bridal shower and used some metallic cardstock for the tags to make them pop!

To start with, I cut some flowers and leaves from two different shades of purple (Stardream Metallic: Amethyst and Kunzite) and two different shades of teal (Stardream Metallic: Lagoon and Aqua) and then the leaves from the Stardream Metallic Fairway. I grouped the flowers and leaves together in purples and teals, because I knew I wanted to make two tags – a teal and a purple one.

The next step was to put these beautiful flowers together! When I put the top layer on the big flower, I folded the petals up a bit to give it some dimension. This cardstock is such great quality and a nice heavy weight, it allows for this kind of fluffing up the flowers.

To add a little special touch to the biggest flowers, I put a glitter gem in the center.

Next was to make the bases for the tags. I found some patterned paper in my stash, but it wasn’t quite heavy enough to make a tag out of just that. I die cut the same tag from the patterned paper and from the Kraft Chipboard for the base. This gives it a nice solid base for our tag.

I snipped apart pieces of the stem that I wanted and built my flowers on the tags. I added some little glitter gems, the same kind that I used on the flower centers, to give it some extra sparkle!

And voila! We have beautiful tags to make the gifts stand out. You could stamp a sentiment and write on the back of the tag to personalize your gifts!
