Hi Crafty Friends! How is your year going so far? I love decorating for Valentine’s Day by adding red and pink around the house whenever I can. It’s the only time of the year I can get away with all of the girly stuff.
For this home decor, I took a piece of Classic Linen Cardstock in Solar White and trimmed it down to 9″ X 6″ and took a fancy 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″ die and die cut out the top and bottom of the paper. To help line it up I measured the middle and drew a line in pencil down the middle to place the die. I cut a 9 1/2″ X 6 1/2″ matte out of Classic Crest in Red Pepper.
Then I trimmed a piece of Classic Linen cardstock in Gold Pearl down to 5 1/2″ X 4″ and stamped a background stamp in VersaMark and heat set it with gold WOW embossing powder. I matted the Gold Pearl panel onto Classic Crest cardstock in Red Pepper.
I then trimmed another piece of the Classic Linen Cardstock in Solar White down to 4 3/4″ X 2 1/4″ and and stamped “Love” in Versafine Onyx Black ink.
To assemble I took a piece of Classic Linen Cardstock in Solar White. Then adhered a piece of Gold Pearl trimmed down to 8″ X 10″. After that, I adhered the die cut panel matted on the Red Pepper cardstock.
Across the middle, I adhered a strip of Gold cardstock and then over that the stamped panel and lastly the stamped Love sentiment.
I’m planning on setting this up on my fireplace mantle without a frame but I think this would look really good if you skipped the last layer so it would fit in a 8″ X 10″ frame.
