I’m getting ready for Valentine’s Day and creating cards for the grandkids. I wanted cards that resembled the little heart-shaped candies with different sayings on them. So that’s my inspiration and here’s what I came up with. The bright pinks and reds of the Astrobright Card Stock collection worked great for these cards.
I laid out the outlines with different colored inserts until I found the combinations I liked.
For added interest, I stamped a large heart in the lower right corner of each card. I positioned the large heart so it is slightly off the right edge. Then glued down the die-cut heart outline over top of the stamped heart.
I stamped little sentiments on the larger hearts and popped them up with foam adhesive squares. Then I glued the little hearts with Tombow Mono Liquid Glue inside the outline. Using the Jewel Picker helped with placing the tiny pieces.
Next, I created sentiment strips with the same Astrobright card stock colors. Using the MISTI, I quickly stamped them on the different colors.
Then I heat embossed each sentiment with silver embossing powder.
To finish the cards, I added sequins or these little discs that look like cupcake decorations.
Valentine’s Day is coming up soon so now is the time to finish those cards for loved ones. Don’t forget all the Astrobright Card Stock is on sale this month.

Every year around Father’s Day, my dad tells me not to get him anything. I’ve never listened to him, but in an attempt to honor his wishes, I try not to go overboard. I get him something small that lets him know I’m thinking about him and concentrate my efforts on pretty (yet manly) packaging…
