A Paper Box Frame for that Treasured Photo

Have you ever needed a unique way to display a treasured photo? That’s exactly what I needed, so I created a paper box frame and added a few paper roses. 
I started with an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Solar White Classic Linen Card Stock. I scored each side at 1/2″, 1″, 1 1/2″, and 2″. I find it is easiest to rotate my paper and only have one set of measurements to remember. 
On the 8 1/2″ side I also scored the paper down 1″ at 2 1/2″ and 6″ only.
Next I needed to trim out the corners to create the box sides of the frame. The black lines in the photo show where you will need to cut.
Here is the paper with the corners cut out.
Fold on all the scored lines. 
Start with the 11″ sides folding the edges over to create a small box (or tube). Attach the bottom side of the tube with Score-Tape. Tuck the small flap inside the frame.
Repeat for the 8 1/2″ sides. This side with create a mock mitered corner.
Inside the frame I place a photo of my daughter and her grandpa at her wedding.

Then using Heartfelt Creation’s Classic Rose Cling stamps, I several sets of flower and stems. I used Solar White Classic Linen Card Stock and Emerald Royal Sundance Linen Card Stock.

I inked the flowers with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Inks. Then I die cut them out.

I shaped and assembled the flowers.

I die cut 2 Tim Holtz Small Easel dies, glue them together, and attached it to the back of the frame. 

I arranged the flowers on the front. Added a few leaves. Now I have a great gift for my dad. (Don’t worry he won’t see this post as he doesn’t have a computer.)
