With card sets & invitations on sale this month at CutCardStock.com, I couldn’t resist stocking up on warm fall colors so I am ready for the season! Today I want to share a thank you card I had a lot of fun making. I played with my markers, including my limited (but growing) collection of Copics.
Supplies:
Basis A1 Folded cards & envelope set in Dark Orange
Basis Brown cardstock
Savoy 100% cotton 92# cover in Natural White
earth tone patterned paper piece
stamps
pigment ink
markers for coloring (I used both Stampin Up! markers and Copic Sketch)
Because I am coloring in my image with some alcohol based markers, I first stamped my image with a quick drying, pigment ink.
Tip: I prefer to stamp on the size of paper I need, rather then cut it out after stamping. To help determine the size of paper I should cut, I lay out my stamps the way I want to use them on my grid first to see what size I will need.
The Savoy cardstock took the markers and blending beautifully! I didn’t have any issues with bleeding or smearing. After coloring, I matted the image with a bit of brown cardstock and cut my pattern piece to size. It needed a little something, so I decided to add a scalloped border of the brown cardstock.
**Question for crafters out there….. which markers do you prefer and why? I’m considering expanding my collection and I’d love to hear what you like to use.**
Thankfully I purchased the cards and envelopes as a set, so I’ve got a matching envelope ready to go. Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!
