Basis Square Petal Cards
My project this week for Cutcardstock uses a really cool product called Basis Square Petal Cards. They are a whopping 6.25″ square, lots of room for paper and embellishments.
I started with a teal Petal Card, a Stella and Rose Gertie 6×6 paper pack and my largest Scalloped Circle Stacker die. Picking out 4 sheets of patterned paper, I die cut 4 scalloped circles, cutting each one in half to put on the “petals” of the card. I also used my largest Scalloped Square Stacker die and a fifth sheet of patterned paper to create the square for the inside.
To decorate the front of the card, I used my Italian Flourish Doily, die cutting it from some light yellow Basis cardstock. I really like the 80# weight of this paper, it is perfect for your card base and yet cuts very nicely with such an intricate die; and it comes in 26 wonderful colors. You can purchase a sample pack that includes one of each color. I added some pearl pen accents and some ribbon to tie the card closed, finishing with the flower in the center of the die.
For the inside, I printed this wonderful floral basket from Karen’s Doodles onto Cryogen white cardstock, my favorite paper for Copic markers.
Copics used:
Basket – E33
Flowers – BG10, BG45, YR31, R37
Leaves – YG91, YG93
Shadow – W1
I trimmed the image out and then mounted it onto a scalloped circle from light yellow Basis card stock. I added them to a circle from teal Basis cardstock and then centered it onto my square background.. I computer generated the saying, printing it on Cryogen and backing it again with teal Basis. Finished size is 6.25″ square.
WOW! This is gorgeous, I'm soooo impressed!
