Spooky greetings, my friends! Are you a fan of Halloween? Toni here and I had so much fun creating this spooky cute Halloween card.
The card base
I always use a pre-scored A2 Cougar White folded cardstock base but this time with a twist. Did you know you can place special orders? So I special-ordered a top-fold version! They’re just as fabulous as the side-fold version. The most economical way I found to do this was to order a full ream of the Cougar 110lb cover weight cardstock and have them cut and score the lot. The sky
To start, I sponged the upper portion of the card with Catherine Pooler purple inks then spattered it with water.
I had planned to mask the moon circle but totally forgot so instead cut it from Pop Tone Lemon Drop cardstock. That shade of yellow is fabulous against the purple, don’t you think?
In addition, I cut out the hill using Pop Tone Gumdrop Green cardstock, the haunted house hill from Pop Tone Jelly Bean cardstock, and the tree from Pop Tone Black Licorice cardstock. A bit of ink sponging really added pizzazz to the different layers.
FINAL touches
Admittedly, I love zombies so coloring up these images was beyond fun for me. I chose colors to coordinate with the background. Even their skin has hints of yellow green!
Aided by the hillside diecut’s built-in slits, I tucked the images here and there. I opted not to add pigment pen highlights as I normally would except for the cat’s eyes behind the tree. Spooky!
Finally, I embossed the sentiment in white on a Pop Tone Black Licorice cardstock banner.
