There are many companies out there that make die-cuts for creating Interactive Cards. What truly matters is that you always choose quality and sturdy cardstocks like those from CutCardStock. By using quality cardstocks like those found at CutCardStock, your Interactive Cards are more capable of doing the interactive part of their design.
Choosing Colors & Supplies
Like I mentioned, when making Interactive Cards, there are many choices out there. I used a die-cut set that allows you to open a flap, adhere it to other side and reveal a 2.5″ honeycomb ball. The cardstocks used to create this, and all Interactive Cards, should be the weight and quality you’ll always find at CutCardStock. These wonderful papers make it easy and fun.
Choosing Cardstock Colors
The photo above shows you the die-cuts needed to create this particular Interactive Card. Selecting colors for your cards is always a cinch when you shop at CutCardStock. I chose to use DCS Cougar White Cardstock, DCS Texturized Pearly Curry Green Cardstock and DCS Canvas Textured Seafoam Green Cardstock. By using these high-quality cardstocks, I know that the flap on my Interactive Cards will be sturdy and hold together well.
The base of my card is Astrobright 80 lb. Eclipse Black Cardstock. The next layer is the DCS Canvas Textured Seafoam Green Cardstock followed by a layer cut from DCS Texturized Pearly Curry Green Cardstock, and the top layer is DCS Cougar White Cardstock. The fish and all its parts were cut from all these same colors of fabulous cardstock.
The above photo shows you the gorgeous shimmer on the DCS Texturized Pearly Curry Green Cardstock. Each piece of die-cut cardstock was carefully placed until my little fish was all put together. I did some stamping on the cardstock pieces of my little fish. This lets the recipient know how to use the Interactive Card. Here’s a peek of the card with the honeycomb open.
Finishing Touches
I added a bit of cheesecloth and spread it out around the frame to create a “fish net” of sorts. I also added some solid baker’s twine on the right-hand side just for added texture and color.
