Gift Set of Peacock Cards

Hello, my friends! Toni here with a gift set of peacock cards. I love gifting sets of cards inspired by delightful peacocks. Specifically, I chose a combination of two birthday, one thank you, and one sympathy card. What do you look for in a good gift set?

The birthday cards

For the birthday cards I used a peacock letterpress plate with Savoy 100% Cotton cardstock. I letterpressed the first using a random application of Catherine Pooler inks and the second with Dress Blues. Both are mounted on Classic Crest Patriot Blue cardstock.

I kept the first card very simple as the multi-colored inks were so lovely as is. Thus, I just embossed the sentiment with Versamark and Ranger Black Detail Fine embossing powder.

Conversely, on the second card I spent quite a bit of time watercoloring the image with Derwent watercolor pencils. In addition, I applied Kuretake Gansai Tambi gold watercolor to really make this pop.

Check out how fabulous it looks with the hot-foiled sentiment!

the thank you card

After all that detailed watercoloring, I kept the thank you card super simple.

I embossed a Cougar White cardstock panel and lightly brushed it with leftover ink on my brushes. I trimmed this down and adhered it to a Classic Crest Patriot Blue cardstock panel. Again, I used gold for the sentiment, using Bright Foil Gold cardstock and embossing, both back by more of the Classic Crest Patriot Blue.

the sympathy card

Given my personal preferences, the sympathy card is the simplest of all. As before, I letterpressed the image on Savoy 100% Cotton cardstock using a selection of more muted Catherine Pooler inks.

I stamped the sentiment right on the card front in Versafine Clair Nocturne. In keeping with the other cards in this gift set, I mounted the panel on Classic Crest Patriot Blue.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my gift set of peacock cards. Have a great rest of your day!
