The holidays have arrived! Natalie here and I may have just completed my last Christmas card of the season. While it makes me a little sad, I’m so grateful for all the beautiful Christmas crafting supplies I’ve enjoyed this year. And of course, I’m excited for all the great things still to come.
For my card today, I wanted to create something a bit more elegant and dramatic. I ended up using nearly every cardmaking technique—die cutting, both dry and wet embossing, and stamping. Despite all the steps, it was actually a really fun card to make.
Cardstock Used
- Lessebo Moss Green Cardstock
- DCS Granny Smith
- Lessebo Dawn Maroon Cardstock
- Cougar White 130 LB Cardstock
- Curious Translucent Clear 65 lb Cardstock
Putting it together
- Cut Cougar White cardstock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and score at 4 1/4 inch to make a side folding card base
- Cut your vellum to about 3 3/4 X 5 and emboss using your embossing folder of choice.
- Set these aside while you work on your flowers.
- Die cut flowers out of Lessebo Dawn. As many as you think looks good. I think I have two on some and three on others just to give it more dimension.
- Die Cut stems out of Lessebo Moss and Granny Smith. I like the two colors together for this type of project
- Stamp and emboss sentiment and cut it out.
- Using foam adhesive I added the flowers to the embossed vellum piece. I then used craft glue on the stems.
- To attach the vellum to the card base, I used liquid glue placed behind the flowers and sentiments. This worked very well. This kept everything secure while maintaining a clean, polished look.
- Added gold string and adhesive pearls for some holiday shine.
Here is another look at my card
I want to wish all of you a happy holiday and the best New Year ever. 2026 is going to be a great year, I just know it!
Thanks for stopping by the CutCardstock Blog today. Let me know if you are putting your Christmas/holiday stuff away yet or not!
