Christmas Fun Fold

Hey everybody, happy Thursday! Are you ready for the big man in the red suit? He’ll be here in a week’s time whether you’re ready or not, lol! Leslie here with a tutorial for making a Christmas fun fold with a mitten theme. This fold out panel card features Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White, Lessebo Dawn Maroon and Stardream Metallic Aquamarine. I absolutely love a red and aqua color combo, and this turned out great. It’s a pretty simple one, so let’s get started!

Cut Card Base & Layers

Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White
1. Fold out panel: 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 1-1/2″, 3″, 5-1/2″ and 8″.
2. Back sentiment panel: 4″ x 5-1/4″.

Lessebo Dawn Maroon
1. Flat card base: 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
2. Smaller front panel: 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″
3. Narrow embellishing strip for back: Approximately 1/4″ x 4″

Stardream Metallic Aquamarine
1. Larger front panel: 4″ x 5-1/4″

Patterned paper of choice:
1. Small layer: 1-1/4″ x 4″
2. Medium layer: 2-1/4″ x 4″
3. Large layer: 2-3/4″ x 4″
4. Embellishing strip for back: Approximately 3/4″ x 4″

Adhere Layers

First, fold all the score lines on the fold out panel – mountain, valley, mountain, valley as per the photo below.

Next, adhere the small, medium and large patterned paper layers to the appropriate sections on the fold out panel. Set this aside.

Now adhere the aqua panel to the red flat card base. Similarly, adhere the red smaller front panel to the aqua panel, centering it with even borders on all four sides. Grab the fold out panel and adhere it to the smaller red panel.

Working on the back sentiment panel now, glue the patterned paper and narrow red embellishing strips to the top.

Die Cut & Stamp

Die cut an ornate oval from the red cardstock and a stitched oval from the white cardstock for the front.

Similarly, die cut a pair of mittens from the aqua cardstock, backing the snowflake area with scraps of red.

Stamp front and back sentiments in red ink.

Adhere Focal & Embellishment

Glue the ornate oval to the card front, applying the glue only to the left side.

Additionally, adhere the die cut mittens to the inside section.

Afterwards, adhere the back sentiment panel in place.

Complete Christmas Fun Fold

Finally, adhere several white pearls to the focal panel.

In addition, let’s ‘bling up’ the mittens a little by adding some flat sparkly embellishments to the snowflakes.

Lastly, add a few more of the flat sparkly embellishments to the back sentiment panel. Your card is now complete.

Summing up, these are the other products I used:
PAPER: The Paper Studio Four Seasons and Everything In Between -2- paper pad
STAMPS: Love From Lizi Jingle All The Way stamp set
INK: Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink
