Thanksgiving Card

Hello friends, Melissa here. I have a really cute Thanksgiving card to share with you that will also double as a little table decoration because it stands up. I think we’re all familiar with Center Step cards but I do have some directions for you. First, let’s gather our supplies.

Alright, let’s get crafty! First of all, we’ll work on our card base. We are making an A2 sized card, so you’ll start with a piece of cardstock that measures 5 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches. So your standard 8 1/2 x 11 cut in half. Then following the diagram below green lines are score lines and white lines are cut lines. Your 2″ score line is the only valley fold.

Now you can add the patterned as you wish. It’s your card, you decide how much of a border you want. I cut my papers down 1/4″ smaller. So the sides are 3/4″ inches wide, etc.

Let’s work on our focal image. With various pieces of colored card stock I die cut out the mouse.

As you can see I also made a hat for my mouse. Ink the edges, stamp the face or use the dies. Put together your focal image.

Here I have the mouse put together, I stamped the face. He looks like Jerry from Tom & Jerry! I forgot to photograph the pumpkin, but I did put together my fancy pumpkin and set it behind the mouse.

Stamp your sentiment and trim to fit your card. You’re all done!

After I added the sentiment, I just felt like it needed a little bit more. So, I stamped out these acorns. Colored them and then fussy cut them. They were just the finishing touch this card needed. This card is so adorable and as I said can double as a table decoration or if you really want to get fancy instead of a sentiment, you could use these as place cards. My family is too laid back for all that. They’d rather fill a plate and watch football while eating.

I hope you’ll give this card a try and if you do, I would love to see it. Share it on Instagram and be sure to tag me!
