Side Accordion Panel Card

Hey everybody – I hope you’re having a great week! It’s hard to believe Christmas is just a little more than a month away. I’m pretty much finished with my Christmas crafting so I have a friendship card to share. Leslie here with a tutorial for making a side accordion panel card which is one of my favorite fun folds. I used Sunset Orange, Flame Orange, and White – all from our Lessebo line. I dug into my stash and found papers, ephemera and die cuts which coordinate really nicely with this cardstock. So let’s make a fun fold!

Cut Card Base & Layers

Lessebo Sunset Orange
1. Card base: 5-1/2″ x 11″, scored at 1-3/4″, 3-1/2″, 5-1/4″ and 7″. Fold on all the score lines and burnish with a bone folder.
2. Folded front panel: 3″ x 6″, scored at 3″. Fold on the score line and burnish with a bone folder.

Lessebo White:
1. Back panel: 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″

Patterned paper of choice:
1. Left-hand vertical accordion panels (floral print): 1-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ (cut 3)
2. Right-hand panel (teal/white striped print): 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″
3. Folded front panels (plaid print): 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ (cut 2)
4. Back embellishing strip (yellow/white striped print): Approximately 3/4″ x 5-1/4″

Adhere Layers

First, adhere the three floral patterned paper panels to the first three accordion sections of the card base.

Second, glue the teal/white patterned paper to the right-hand section.

Thirdly, adhere the two plaid patterned paper panels to the folded front panel.

Lastly, adhere the yellow/white patterned paper embellishing strip to the top of the white back panel.

Assemble Card

Glue the folded front panel to the first and fourth accordion sections of the card base. Only apply glue to the outer edges of the folded panel so that the card opens and closes smoothly. The overhead photo below shows what this should look like after gluing.

Complete Side Accordion Panel Card

Add a sentiment to the front folded panel. Layer a die cut sentiment on top of a stitched circle cut from Flame Orange.

Additionally, add several topaz rhinestones to the front folded panel.

Afterwards, add another sentiment to the right-hand section that the recipient will see when the card is opened. Be sure to position this sentiment so it’s behind the folded panel when the card is closed.

Finally, adhere the white panel to the back of the card. This can be left blank to write a custom message and signature.

Summing up, these are the other products I used:
PAPER: Stamp & Scrapbook Expo Celebrate The Little Things Collection Kit (papers, ephemera and die cuts)
DIES/PUNCHES: Love From Lizi Stitched Circle Nested Cutting Dies and Stitched Square Nested Cutting Dies
ACCESSORIES: Fiskars 12″ ProCision Rotary Bypass Paper Trimmer, Spellbinders 12×12 Scoring Board, My Sweet Petunia Precision Glue Press, Bearly Art precision craft glue, Big Shot, Trinity Stamps Topaz Twinkle Embellishment Mix, Trinity Pick Up Stick
