Add a handmade touch to your holiday décor with these festive Rustic Star Christmas Ornaments! Judy here with my latest project created for CutCardStock. Perfect for the tree, gift tags, or even garlands, these ornaments combine rustic charm with cheerful Christmas details.
Supplies
- Kraft Chipboard .022
- Classic Crest Solar White Crdstock
- Lessebo Dawn Maroon Cardstock
- Lessebo Moss Green Cardstock
- Pop Tone Hot Fudge Cardstock
- Pop Tone Black Licorice Cardstock
- Bright Foil 10 pt Gold Cardstock
- Die cutting machine and holiday dies
- Adhesive and foam tape for dimension
- White acrylic paint
- Twine or ribbon for hanging
Creating the Base
Each ornament begins with a Kraft Chipboard star base for a cozy farmhouse look. I cut 2 stars in 2 sizes.
Next, I paint the edges and splatter the stars with white acrylic paint.
Adding twine or a ribbon for hanging comes next.
I tape twine to the front of the larger star. Then apply the smaller star on top. Just a note, I did add embellishments to the smaller star before adhering to the larger.
Embellishing
Then comes the fun part — embellishing each one with seasonal designs:
I used cardstock to create all the embellishments — the smooth cuts and vibrant colors make layering easy and eye-catching
Snowman & “Let It Snow” for a wintry feel
Santa & “Ho Ho Ho” for a jolly classic look
Christmas Tree & Poinsettia with “Joy” for timeless holiday beauty
These ornaments are quick to make and perfect for using up scrap paper, too. Try mixing different colors or textures to match your holiday theme!
