Which season is your favorite? Hello – I am Karen Hasheck, and my favorite season is autumn with cooler sweater weather and beautiful fall colors. Texture and CutCardStock’s cardstocks combine to make this card easy to make and beautiful.
Die Cut the Autumn Leaves
First step is to cut the leaves out of fall colors like Stardream Metallic Antique Gold and Copper. Then add some red in with the Red Pepper Discount Cardstock.
Embedded Embossing of the Leaves and Cozy Sweater
Next step is to cut a top folding A2 card base out of Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. In addition, cut a white piece 3 by 4 ¼ inches.
This card sketch and the use of the products shown were taught in a recent Altenew online class. But you can add a special touch by attaching the leaves first. Then emboss the white piece in the Cozy Sweater 3D Embossing Folder from Altenew. The leaves are embedded into the embossing for amazing texture. A touch of gold ink on the edges of the embossed piece helps it to stand out against the white background.
Finish the Card with More Leaves and a Sentiment
Add some more leaves at the top and sides before attaching the embossed focal piece. This card would be perfect for just about any occasion. Sympathy cards are something we all need. The foiled sympathy sentiment label was created with a Foil It sentiment and die from Taylored Expressions. Raise the sentiment label with pop dots before attaching and the card is complete.
I hope this card inspires you to try adding some fall colors and textures to your cards. . Then join me in sending some of that handmade joy out into our world!
Cardmaking Joy & Hugs,
Karen
