Did you know Christmas is less than 3 months away? Karen here with you today, and this post is part of my monthly Countdown to Christmas. I am encouraging you to start early on your holiday makes so there is less stress later.
Ornament Shaped Gift Card Holder
Start by cutting the Gift Card Holder Ornament die from Emily Moore Designs. My favorite paper from CutCardStock is their Stardream Metallic. The Jupiter Red is the perfect color for Christmas projects.
Need Texture but No Embossing Folder? No Problem!
Even with gorgeous metallic paper, texture adds more interest to our projects. Sometimes we don’t have the right embossing folder to add that texture. In that case, our cutting dies can be used to emboss.
All dies can be used to emboss if you have a rubber mat with your diecutting machine. My Spellbinders Platinum Six lists the correct sandwich to emboss rather than cut as: Platform Base, Platform Top, paper and cutting die (cut side up), Rubber Embossing Mat, Adapter Plate. Check with the manufacturer of your machine for its correct sandwich to emboss with a die cut.
After embossing with a few Crealies dies, the front of the gift card holder is ready. Specifically, it is embossed with great texture and a holiday message hidden under the gift card.
Don’t Forget to Decorate the Back
Next step is to emboss the back of the ornament with a background die and the rubber mat again. In addition, die cut the top of the ornament and a hanging charm out of Stardream Metallic Cardstock this time in the Antique Gold color.
Embossed Ornament Gift Card Holder Ready For Gift Giving
Lastly, on the back is a place to sign and write a personal message. Gift cards are perfect for so many on my Christmas list. Is it the same for you?
I hope this gift card ornament inspires you to get ahead of your holiday projects. Less stress and more joy is my goal for your holiday season and mine.
Cardmaking Joy & Hugs,
Karen
