Halloween crafting is always so much fun, don’t you think? Hey there, it’s Judy here and today I’m sharing my latest CutCardStock project, a whimsical project perfect for celebrating the season. A skeleton wedding card with a mix of spooky charm and playful romance, is sure to bring smiles. I’ll be sending this one to my daughter and son-in-law. They were married on Halloween.
Supplies Used:
- Cardstock: Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock Lessebo Pitch Black Discount Cardstock DCS Discount Card Stock: Textured Flame Tree Orange Cardstock
- Skeleton Bride & Groom Stamps & Dies
- Adhesive: Liquid glue, double sided tape or tape runner
- Foam adhesive (for dimension)
- Colored markers or pencils (for accents like flowers and boots)
- Embellishments: String lights die cuts or stickers
- Sentiment: “Happy Halloween” printed or stamped
Prepare Card Base
Fold a piece of 8.5″ x 11″ DCS Discount Card Stock: Textured Flame Tree Orange Cardstock in half to create a 5.5″ x 8.5″ side folding card. This bold orange base will frame the darker background beautifully.
Trim a piece of Lessebo Pitch Black Discount Cardstock to 5.25″ x 8.25″ for card background.
Create the Skeleton Bride & Groom
- Print or stamp and die-cut or fussy cut a pair of skeletons onto Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock.
- Dress them up! Add a paper top hat and bow tie for the groom and a wedding gown with veil for the bride.
- Color accents like shoes, bouquet flowers, and hat details for a fun Halloween touch.
Assemble the Couple
- Adhere the groom’s body, legs, top hat & bow tie to the black background.
- Attach the bride’s body next to him. I did some trimming to her body before adding the wedding dress. The veil, arms, boots and bouquet go on next.
Create a Sentiment Panel
I stamp the sentiment on a scrap of Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. Trim this piece close to the staming and mat with a scrap piece of Lessebo Pitch Black Discount Cardstock .
Complete the Couple
Adhere arms to the groom and add the sentiment panel with foam tape.
Add Background to Card Base
Attach the black background to the orange card base.
Add the Garland Lights
Die cut the garland out of Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. Color the lights with glitter gel pens.
String light die cuts or stickers across the top of the card for a festive background detail.
Final Thoughts
This skeleton wedding card combines spooky Halloween vibes with a playful wedding theme—perfect for October weddings, Halloween parties, or just to send a festive greeting. With bold cardstock, fun embellishments, and a touch of whimsy, this handmade card is sure to stand out.
