Beach Scene Birthday Card

Do you have slimline products that are just sitting around? Pull them out and use them for an A2 card! I grabbed several products that I have had in my stash for years and made this Beach Scene Birthday Card. Hi, it’s Patty. Come join me as I fall back in love with my slimline dies.

I Sea It’s Your Birthday

Card Stock Used

Getting Started

Using the Pixi Dust Designs Beach Day Slimline die set, I cut out the sand for the beach and the tree trunks from Glama Kraft Cardstock. I ink blended Sand Castle Ink from Catherine Pooler over those pieces. Next, I cut out three wave layers for the sea. The furthest wave is Aqua Cardstock with Catherine Pooler’s Uptown Ink blended over it for a more blue-green look. The first two sets of waves and the background panel are from Sno-Cone Cardstock. The first wave has Uptown blended over it and the second wave has AT The Lake from Catherine Pooler’s blended over it.

I continued my die cutting with the yellow of the sun and the starfish being cut from Yellow Jacket Cardstock. The rays of the sun are from Adobo Cardstock. I cut the palm leaves from Bonsai Cardstock. The clouds, the sailboat and the crab were all cut from Cougar White Cardstock and colored with Copic Markers.

Trimming the slimline cuts

To create the postage stamp background, I used Patriotic Blue Cardstock and the largest Postage Die from Catherine Pooler. NeXT, I cut the background from Sno-Cone Cardstock using the stitched die from the same set. I used that same stitched die to cut out the part of the sand that I wanted from the slimline die cut. That helped me keep the stitched detail on the card. For the waves, I glued them down and trimmed at the edge of the Sno-Cone Panel.

Finishing Up

To finish up the Beach Scene Birthday Card, I colored the crab and the sailboat with markers. I glued everything together and added it to my Sno-Cone card panel. Next, I adhered my Sno-Cone panel to my postage stamp panel. I added all of that to my cardbase.

Finished card

Thanks so much for joining me today. I really hope you look at your slimline dies differently and use them to create A2 or A7 cards.

Hugs,

Patty
