DIY Best Dad Banner for Father’s Day

Best Dad Father's Day Banner

I'm so happy to share a cute Father's Day craft today! Make this adorable Best Dad Father's Day banner with your electronic cutting machine. You can add your own special touch to the banner too.

Let’s DIY a simple yet cute banner for Dad!

Hey krafty friends! It’s Tiffani from A Krafting Alley, and today I’m sharing a fun last-minute DIY project just in time for Father’s Day—a “Best Dad” banner that perfectly matches the Father’s Day Z-Fold card we made in the last blog post!

This banner is a quick, cute, and festive decoration you can hang for your celebration or even use as a photo backdrop. Let me walk you through how to put it together step by step.

What You’ll Need:

SVG File – You can grab the “Best Dad” banner file from my Etsy shop, ready to cut with your electronic cutting machine.

Cardstock – All cardstock I used is from CutCardStock.com, and here are the colors I chose:

Adhesives – Foam squares/tape and liquid glue
String/Twine – I used blue and white baker’s twine

Step-by-Step Assembly:

  1. Cut Your Pieces:
Download the SVG and upload it into your cutting machine’s software and cut all the pieces using the cardstock colors listed above.
  2. Assemble the Stars:
    • Use foam squares to attach the blue stars to the yellow stars. This gives dimension.
    • Then, use foam squares again to place the white letters spelling out “BEST DAD” onto each star. NOTE: make sure your holes are at the top before you glue your letters down so that the letters will line up correctly.
  3. Assemble the Award Ribbon:
    • Glue the white “#1” to the blue center circle.
    • Use foam tape to pop up the blue circle onto the yellow ribbon base.
    • Use liquid glue to attach the indigo ribbon tails behind the yellow base.
  4. Assemble the Trophy:
    • Use foam tape to attach the yellow pieces to the silver trophy base for dimension.
  5. String the Banner Together:
Lay out your pieces and string them onto the twine in this order:
    Trophy – (space) – D – A – D – (space) – B – E – S – T – (space) – #1 Ribbon
Make sure to leave extra twine on both ends so you can hang it easily.

Final Touches:

This “Best Dad” banner comes together quickly and adds the perfect personal touch to your Father’s Day setup. I especially love how it coordinates with the Father’s Day Z-Fold card we just made in my last blog post. It’s simple, fun, and handmade with love—what more could a dad want?

I hope you’ll give this project a try! If you do, tag me or leave a comment—I’d love to see how you decorate with it.

Thanks for crafting with me, and Happy Father’s Day!
