Happy May to all of our readers! For most of us who live in the U.S.A., May brings sunshine, warm temperatures, flowers and Mother’s Day. They all go hand in hand perfectly. Birgit here with you today, sharing a darling little project, just perfect for gifting a potted plant for Mom.
The Supplies:
The supplies I used from CutCardstock are 83# Lessebo Sunflower Yellow cardstock and 80# Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. Other supplies I used are Impression obsession Small Basket die and PinkFresh Studio Choose Hope Stencils. Let me show you how this project came together.
Creating The Basket:
To begin with, I cut four panels of the basket out of #80 Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. This cardstock is super durable and perfect for creating boxes of any kind. To add color to the box, I stenciled the floral image onto all four sides of the basket.
Wanting to add a bit of color to the basket, I cut two stitched scalloped strips out of 83# Lessebo Sunflower Yellow cardstock to add to the top edge of the basket.
I then proceeded to glue the scalloped strips to the top edge using Tombow Mono Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue, followed by assembling the basket together. I felt that this gift box needed a tag, so I created these darling gardening gloves using the same process. It’s super cute already!
Filling The Basket:
To finish up the project, I added a bit of green tissue paper. A trip to the local nursery helped me find the perfect small plant to tuck inside the basket.
The Finished Basket:
To sum it up, a gift like this would be perfect for giving for Mother’s Day, birthday, someone who’s feeling under the weather or as a hostess gift.
I would love to know in the comments, what you think of this project as well as other types of projects you’d like to see in future posts. My job is to inspire you and I hope to do that with all my heart!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
