Have you ever had a scrapbook page design rolling around in your head and then you get to making it and it changes completely? Hi friends, it’s Patty from The Quiet Sister and that is exactly what happened to me. I created this Farm Fresh Scrapbook Page using multiple colors of CutCardStock and Spellbinders dies. I ended up taking the embellishments apart and re-arranging them.
My original thought was to create little nests for the farm animals of flowers and leaves and to use them as decorative clusters around the pages. But, after I added the pictures, I decided the nests were too busy and I scaled the embellishments waaaaaay back. As a result of that editing, my layout was much simpler, which is my style.
Cardstock Used For Scrapbook Layout
Getting Started on Farm Layout
I have seven photos I wanted included. In order to ensure I got the best part of each photo, I used three 4×6 photos, three photos cropped down to 4×4 and one photo cropped to 2×3. After that, I matted the photos on Cougar White Card Stock, leaving an eighth of an inch border all around the photo. To finish the matting, I created the Glama Kraft Card Stock photo mats which are a quarter of an inch larger than each photo. I arranged them on the 12×12 Cougar White Card Stock.
Dies Used
To create all of the embellishments, I used several Spellbinders dies.
Embellishments
For the embellishments, I cut them out using colored card stock and Cougar White card stock. Because I love a little color on everything, I colored the white embellishments with alcohol markers or did some ink blending over them. Secondly, to complete the embellishments, I glued everything together. Next, I decided on the placement of all the embellishments on my pages. In order to create a cloud stencil effect, I masked off parts of the pages and used Taylored Expressions Cloud Stencil.
I added the animals to their stenciled cloud scenes. In order to ensure the photos would be fully visible when I add them later, I tucked the florals in behind the mats. At this point, I decided I wanted more red in the embellishments. I cut out my sentiment using my Brother Scan N Cut and Discount Card Stock Habanero and added it to the middle of the first page. Finally, to complete the look, I added Studio Katina gems.
Thank you for joining me today. I hope you found something useful or inspirational from this post. If so, I would love it if you would consider following me!
Take Care,
Patty
