Spooky Halloween Shadowbox

Hey everybody, I hope you’re having a fabulous day! Are you an avid Halloween fan or would you just prefer to decorate for the Fall season in general? I love Halloween myself but it seems to be about a 50-50 split among my friends. Leslie here, sharing a tutorial for making a spooky Halloween shadowbox. The actual shadowbox portion was cut with my Cricut in addition to the layered panels that make up the scene. So stinkin’ fun! I literally have thousands of SVG cut files, almost 13,000 to be exact. I’ve been going through my files and picking random ones that I’ve never made before. This Halloween shadowbox features our Brick Orange, Flame Orange, Sunset Orange and Pitch Black, all from the Lessebo line. I also used our Basis Gray and Cougar Smooth White cardstock.

Cut the Shadowbox Pieces

Using my Cricut Explore Air 2 and the Halloween shadowbox SVG cut file, I cut the shadowbox pieces from Cougar Smooth White. I folded all the score lines on the inside and outside frame pieces, and set this group aside.

Cut the Scene Layers

Next, I cut the scene layers from Brick Orange, Flame Orange, Sunset Orange, Pitch Black, Basis Gray and Cougar Smooth White. Following this, I put the layers in the order required to build the spooky scene.

Assemble the Shadowbox

Now it’s time to begin the assembly process, starting with the shadowbox. I adhered the inside frame pieces first and then the outside frame pieces, using liquid glue.

Adhere Scene Layers

The next phase of the assembly process is adhering the scene layers inside the shadowbox, beginning with the back layer. I used double-sided adhesive foam squares between each of the layers for a little dimension.

Complete the Spooky Halloween Shadowbox Project

Finally, I added a die cut sentiment which completed the spooky scene. I decided the all-white shadowbox needed a little something-something, so I added Basis Gray strips around the opening. Lastly, I added several enamel dots along the mitered edge in each corner.

Summing up, these are the other products I used:
DIES/PUNCHES: Lori Whitlock 8×8 Halloween Shadowbox SVG Cut File, Stampin’ Up Boo To You Framelits
ACCESSORIES: Cricut Explore Air 2, My Sweet Petunia Precision Glue Press, Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive, Big Shot, Scrapbook.com Double-Sided Adhesive Foam Squares, Keep It Simple Back To Basics Mango Enamel Dots
