Colorful Fall Wreath Card

Are you ready for fall? I know I am. Love the cooler crisp weather and the cooler temperatures! It is Teri with TerisMailbox sharing this fall wreath for CutCardStock! Check out their new Lessebo Cardstock Line – such great fall colors!

I am loving the texture and colors on this card!

Create the Card Base

Start the base by using and A2 size panel of Royal Sundance Kraft Cardstock – one of my favorites! Use Acorns 3D Embossing Folder to add texture to the base. Run a Ground Expresso Distress ink pad over the flat side of the embossing folder and run through your die cut machine. You may need to repeat the inking more than once. It is easy to match up the raised areas on the folder.

Die Cut the Leaves and Blooms

Use the Sizzix new Vault Foliage Die Set to cut a variety of flowers and leaves using fall colors of Lessebo cardstock. Suggestions for colors include Coffee Bean, Sunflower, Sunset, Dawn, Flame and Moss Lessebo cardstocks. I like to separate the die cuts by color into small pans.

These are layered dies, so the next set is to glue the layers together. Using the variety of cardstock gives multiple color combinations possible!

Use coordinating Distress Inks to add depth by ink blending the outside edges of the blooms and leaves.

Create the Fall Wreath Base

Use the wreath die cut and cut two from the Kraft cardstock and one from the Coffee Bean cardstock. Layer these and glue the wreaths together.

Assemble Your Fall Wreath Card

Attach the Acorn base to a Kraft A2 card base. I make all my bases by cutting an 8.5 by 11-inch cardstock into two and scoring. Wrap twine around the wreath for interest. Select the leaves and blooms you want to use and glue them to the wreath starting three-quarters of the way up on the wreath. This way you can layer the leaves and blooms as you work towards the middle. Glue the wreath to the Acorn base.

Create a bow by wrapping twine around your fingers and tie. Use a heavier glue such as Collage Medium or hot glue to attach. You may need to set a weight on this until it dries.

Stamp and emboss a sentiment onto an additional piece of Kraft cardstock and attach to the center.
