B&W Side Step Wedding Card

Hey everybody! I hope your week has started off nicely! Weddings seem to be happening all around. Do you have any friends tying the knot? Leslie here, sharing a side step wedding card featuring our Lessebo Pitch Black and White cardstock. I totally love a black and white color combo with just a pop of color. B&W can be used for nearly any occasion but I think it’s most dramatic for a wedding card. I typically make center step cards so I made a side step card this time with standing panels which turned out really nice. Our Lessebo cardstock is absolutely wonderful and my new favorite – the colors are beautiful, the weight is perfect and it folds great!

Cut Card Base & Layers

Cut card base and standing panels from Lessebo Pitch Black cardstock.
Card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.
Standing panels: Top panel 4″ x 3″, middle panel 2-1/2″ x 3″, bottom panel 1-1/4″ x 3″.

Next, cut layering panels from Lessebo White cardstock.
Left vertical panel 1-7/8” x 4-1/8”.
Right bottom horizontal panel 1-1/8” x 3-3/8”.
Standing panels: Top 3-7/8” x 2-7/8”, middle panel 2-3/8” x 2-7/8”, bottom panel 1-1/8” x 2-7/8”
Back panel: 2-1/8” x 5-3/8”

Score & Cut Card Base

Score the card base in half at 4-1/4″ on the long side. Turn the card base to the short side, measure 2” in from left edge and cut from 2-1/4” down to 7-1/4”. Similarly, rotate clockwise and score at 2-1/4”, 5-1/4”, 6-1/4” and 7-1/4” and score only down to the cut line. Fold on the score lines; fold in mountain fashion on the left side and mountain-valley-mountain-valley-mountain on the right side.

Adhere Standing Panel Layers

Adhere the white and black cardstock layers together for the top, middle and bottom standing panels.

Stamp & Color

Stamp sentiments and images on the top, middle, and bottom standing panels as well as the back panel. Additionally, color the images as desired.

Dry Emboss Vertical Panel

The next step is to dry emboss the left vertical panel.

Assemble Card

Begin assembling the card by adhering the left vertical panel and the bottom horizontal panel. Next, center the top, middle and bottom standing panels on the right-hand steps, applying adhesive only to the bottom of the panels.

Complete Project

Tie a gray gingham ribbon onto the left vertical panel, holding it in place with double-sided tape. Finally, add several iridescent gemstones to the top and bottom panels, which will complete the project.

Summing up, these are the other products I used:
STAMPS: Stampin’ Up For The New Two stamp set
INK: Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Sharpie Ultra Fine Point markers- blue, aqua, yellow, light green, medium green
ACCESSORIES: Fiskars 12″ ProCision Rotary Bypass Paper Trimmer, Fiskars 12″ SureCut Paper Trimmer, Elmer’s Craft Bond Tape Runner, Bearly Art precision craft gluer, Big Shot, Cuttlebug Script Embossing Folder, Really Reasonable Ribbon gray gingham ribbon, 1/4″ red liner tape, MISTI stamp tool, clear iridescent gemstones
