Hello Crafty Friends
It’s Ceal, here. Today I am sharing a card that I made for a friend who just needs some hugs. Since I am not close, paper hugs are the next best option.
To make this card, I started with our precut and scored Neenah Solar White bases and and panels. Did you know that for a very small fee CutCardStock will cut and score your paper for you? It’s so easy to pull a base and a panel ready for you to create a card. I used a panel of Lessebo Blossom Pink for the mat; this is such a soft pretty color of pink.
For the main panel I used Neenah 110lb 100% cotton Letterpress in Fluorescent White. I also used a press plate in the Betterpress machine. It is hard to see in a photograph but the letterpress paper is lovely and takes the impression well. I used the Eclipse technique for the hugs. To do this, I cut the word hugs out of the main panel and the Blossom Pink cardstock. I adhered the main panel to the Pink Blossom panel. Next, I filled in the negative spaces (where I had cut out the “hugs”) with the Pink Blossom letters. Finally, I added the floral letters that I cut out of the main panel on top. This creates a subtle message in the main panel.
You can see the “hugs” better in the photo below.
Thanks for hanging out with me and until next time, stay crafty!
