Where do you find inspiration? Inspiration is defined as the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative. I find inspiration in patterns on clothing as well as everyday items. The card I am sharing was inspired by 3 little, gold bunnies I purchased at Target for my Spring decorating.
Aren’t they so sweet? I thought it would be fun to create an Easter card incorporating a gold bunny. Here is the card I designed.
Card Recipe:
I started by stamping the bunnies from Tim Holtz’s Spring Shadows with embossing ink and then sprinkled GinaK Fine Detail embossing powder. I heat set and fussy cut one of the bunnies. I love how they turned out.
Die Cutting:
Next, I die cut some greenery using Sizzix Holiday Brushstroke die set. I die cut some items out of Bonsai green card stock and some from Cougar White Smooth card stock. I ink blended Ranger Peeled Paint Distress Oxide onto the white die cuts.
I die cut an oval from Spellbinders Infinity Punch and Pierce Plate out of Cougar 80# White Smooth card stock. I wanted to add a bit more gold to my card, so I decided to stitch through the center holes on the die cut using gold thread. This was the perfect amount of shine and tied in nicely with the gold, embossed bunny.
I cut a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel from Cougar 80# white Smooth card stock. I carefully laid out all of the element in order to see where I should stamp the sentiment. Then, I stamped the sentiment from Spellbinders Gnome Drive Sentiment stamp set toward the bottom of the panel. I also decided to add a bit of ink blending behind the oval. This card stock is so smooth and easy to ink!
Next, I added dimensional, foam square adhesive to the back of the oval and placed it on the card, adhered the greenery and finally, the bunny. I added a few foam squares to the head portion of the bunny so that he had stability and lined up with the popped up oval.
Lastly, I adhered the decorated panel to a Cougar A2 card base.
I love all of the dimension and am very pleased with how this turned out. I would love to know if you like it and I’d also like to know where you find your inspiration.
