Meowy Easter Treat!

Good morning, Sharon here, have you got your Easter treats for baskets? My post today is sharing a treat I’ve made for a cat lover.

This little guy’s main sections use Pop_Tone Black Licorice and Lessebo Cement. I used a cutting file from Craft with Sarah.

Once you have the main sections cut it’s time for the facial features. Use Pop-Tone Pink Lemonade and Sour Apple to cut these and Neenah Solar White for the remaining parts.

Now to build the kitty, let’s build his cute face. There are 2 main sections in Licorice and Pink Lemonade and the details in Cement and Solar White. Use Tombow Glue and Foam Squares to layer these.

The pink section and whisker sections are the ones that need the foam. Once you have these glued together add in the eyes and nose.

Isn’t he the sweetest!!

Now to build his body. There are 4 sections for this and again use foam squares and Tombow glue on these. Because he has black stripes on his face you need to add these to his body. Using a black marker draw jagged sections on the Cement piece of the body. They don’t need to be perfect but a real cat has symmetrical stripes so adding the stripes opposite each other achieves this look.

The tail and cement section have foam squares holding the in place.

To make this into an egg holder you need to add a base and the back section. Oh and of course his head!

His face is easy to position just glue it onto the front body parts you have built.

The small rectangle and section on the left have scored sections, fold these to form the internal sections that hold the egg.

It is difficult to photo this but the small rectangle needs gluing along the edge of the second section. This is the base so he stands up and the part that will hold your egg inside, once the glue is dry adhere this in place on the back of the cat.

Now to add the back, glue the remaining section onto the other side of the internal base. I use paperclips to hold my pieces while they dry.

For extra detail you can make his eyes and nose appear wet by adding some crystal glaze to them.

When you glue is dry add your egg and then glue to top of the back piece to the back of the cat head section. This holds your egg safely in place.

Here’s his little shiny features:
