So, just “chick”ing with you – have you made anything for Easter yet? If you didn’t know, Easter is early this year and I have a “tweet” idea for your dinner tables. It’s a baby chick egg holder! These are the cutest things to make and also very quick too!
This is great for place settings, decorating and egg hunts. Of course, you have the many choices of CutCardStock to decorate these little eggs with too. Let’s take a look at how these get assembled.
First, I’m using a nested egg set of die cuts. You also have the option of a cutting machine or ovals too. I’ve cut a set of eggs at a 3×5” inch size in Lessebo Sunflower Yellow, and another set in Basis Light Blue.
You can also cut a set of eggs in Classic Neenah Solar White, if you’re going to write or stamp on the back.
Next, take the Basis Light Blue egg and cut it straight across with either a die cut edge or pinking shears. Glue those to the bottom of the Lessebo Sunflower Yellow eggs.
Now I have taken a lawn edger die cut and cut both a strip of Lessebo Sunset Orange and Granny Smith Green. It’s a strip of 6” x 1”. The green strip will become your egg holder. The orange strip you will cut up into pieces and glue it behind the yellow egg for hair. Add the white egg over top to hide the glued edge.
Take the Granny Smith Green strip and form a circle, gluing the ends together. Glue it to the back of the egg.
Finish the face with a Lessebo Sunset Orange triangle for a nose and some dots done in pen for the eyes. An adorable bow can be glued on the front for additional color. You can add cheeks with ink too!
This is such a cute place setting for Easter! Make sure to check out all the sales going on right now at CutCardStock for the beautiful new Lessebo papers. I’d love to hear if you made something similar for your Easter celebrations. And enjoy!
