Glittered Congratulations

I love the elegance and beauty that glittered cardstock can add to any project! Today I am sharing a Congratulations card that is suitable for many occasions. Look at that glitter shine!

For this project, I used different colors of metallic cardstock (Ruby, Virtual Pearl, and Pink Quartz Blush) as well as the Gold Glitter cardstock.

I started with using a 3D embossing folder to make a gorgeous impression on the Pink Quartz Blush cardostock. I LOVE these 3D embossing folders! They make such a beautiful, fun background and it’s so easy! (Make sure you consult your die cutting machine manual for the appropriate sandwich for your machine.)

I lightly mist my cardstock with water prior to putting it through with the 3D embossing folder. This helps is emboss better and prevent cracking.

Look at how beautifully this metallic cardstock embosses!

I then used these heart layering dies with the different metallic and the gold glitterstock – when assembled, this heart is gorgeous!

To really set this background off, I die cut a thin frame from both the pearl embossed background and the gold glitter cardstock. I cut it out of the embossed background so I could replace that piece with the gold glitter cardstock. I think this adds a really nice finishing touch that ties everything together.

I find it easiest to put the outer piece on the card base first, then put a thin line of glue around the inner piece and then fit the thin gold frame in place. Then the inside rectangle should fit perfectly into place.

To finish the card I used foam squares to attach the heart to the background and added a gold glitter “Congratulations”

Mixing metallic and glitter cardstock really step up any project! I’d love to see what you create – tag me on Instagram – @purple_puppy_papercrafting
